About me
Who am I?
My name is Professor Arlety Montero. I am a native Spanish teacher who has taught with a passion that has never waned throughout my thirty-year career.
I was born and raised in Cuba, where Spanish is not just my mother tongue — it is the culture, the music, and the way of seeing the world that I have been immersed in since I was a child. That is where my approach to teaching it comes from: not as a subject to be studied, but as something alive, which you learn by speaking, making mistakes, laughing and trying again.
I now live in Udine, and that same passion that led me to teach in Cuba is still with me — ready to guide you on your journey with Spanish.
My Journey
Cuba
I graduated with a degree in Education, specialising in Spanish Language and Literature, in 1996 from the Higher Pedagogical University Institute of Cuba, my home country.
My Experience
I have taught Spanish language and literature at various secondary schools and technical colleges, guiding hundreds of students through their language learning journey — I have seen first-hand what happens when someone doesn’t just study Spanish but starts to truly live it.
Udine
I now live and work in Udine, and I’ve decided to offer my Spanish teaching services online as well, so that I can reach all those people who’ve always wanted to learn but have never found the opportunity or the time to do so.
My Goal
In my Spanish language course, you won’t find a cold, formal classroom. You’ll find a warm, interactive environment where every student is listened to and supported at their own pace — because everyone learns at their own pace, and I respect that.
The lessons are designed to get you speaking right from the start: you’ll chat with the other participants, practise in real-life situations and gradually build the confidence you need to communicate in Spanish without feeling self-conscious. Because you don’t just learn a language from books — you learn it by using it, experiencing it and making it your own.
And you’ll find that speaking Spanish — even as a beginner — can be fun, engaging and even exciting.
‘Every great journey begins with a first step — in this case, with a first word.’
